Like in many society overseas, the green colored bin is also assigned to collect organic waste in Indonesia. Organic waste includes food waste, fallen leaves, vegetables, etc. Put your organic waste into this bin so that it can be processed to make compost and fertilizers.
There are many instances where the yellow bin is used in a medical environment to collect harmful waste. SULO bins are special because they are resistant to many chemicals, thus reducing the risk of chemical reactions and/or effects. Overseas, the yellow bin is used to collect textiles, but in Indonesian society, it is more commonly used to collect non-organic waste such as plastic, pet bottles, plastic cups, etc. This is aimed to make the process of recycling easier at recycling plants.
Again a similarity, the blue color is used in both overseas and local society to collect paper waste. This also includes boxes, and cartons. When you separate this waste, the paper can then be reused for crafts and recycled at plants to make recycled paper.
Although it is normally used to collect plastics overseas, the red colored bins are used to collect dangerous non-organic waste in Indonesia. This includes glass, detergent packets and other cleaning supplies packaging, and may include pesticides. All these items may be contaminated and is dangerous for health, thus the need for them to be separated in collection to avoid health risks and the safety of everyone else.
The orange bin, is in fact rarely seen. They were once used in the city of Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, as part of the clean initiative "Pasukan Oranye" to clean up in the Greater Jakarta area.
Although other parts of the world may use this color to identify the collection of tins and cans, Indonesian society decides that all other residue other than those mentioned above should go in this colored bin.

OptiSolutions by Envicomp Engineering is a complete package of hardware systems and software applications for waste management.
The system works by installing RFID transponder chips within the SULO bins. The bins are then installed in various locations where citizens can dispose of their waste in it before collection. Collection trucks go about in a schedule that will visit the locations where the bins are installed, and a reader scans to identify the bin and records the weight and time of the waste collection. This paperless digitalisation helps to reduce the impact on the environment and also make sure that cities may manage their waste more efficiently.
In a more advanced society, government may impose a "Pay-As-You-Throw" (otherwise known as "PAYT") System where each household is given an access control card that allows them to dispose of waste in specially designated bins. These bins will then calculate how much waste the houshold has generated and will bill them accordingly.
